Preface ~
When this book was first produced, a lively
debate began regarding the use of archaic language.
Some said that the use of thee and thy alienates the
modern reader.
Others said that these old-style words add to the
romantic feeling of the verse, and in fact this is
exactly the way these words came into my mind. I realize
that I have used them with considerable poetic license.
Feelings on both sides of these questions were so strong
that I decided to produce part of this little book twice
within the same cover.
Choose the section you like best for any given poem, and
do not hesitate to drop me a line if you have any further
words that you would like to add to this debate.
